Kevin Worrell laid to rest
FAMILY, friends and team mates turned up at the Burnham Court to pay their final tributes to the life of Kevin Worrell who was buried yesterday at the La Repentir cemetery.
Twenty-one-year-old Worrell was a centre on the Courts Pacesetters basketball squad. He also played in the second and third division teams for the Pacesetters. Worrell met his sudden death last Sunday while playing in a Georgetown Amateur Basketball Association (GABA) basketball retreat to herald the commencement of the basketball season in Georgetown.
Prior to his interment, a candle light vigil was held at the Burnham Court where the team practises. Courts Guyana Inc, the sponsor of the team contributed an undisclosed sum of money to offset some of the expenses that the family would have incurred after Worrell’s death.
Members of the basketball fraternity in Guyana expressed that they have lost a bright and promising prospect and he will be greatly missed
