Guyana Lottery Company should open up to feedback, suggestions

GUYANA Lottery Company has every right to its decision with respect to an unclaimed prize, and it has been a very successful company and I commend it for its contribution towards the economy.

However, my contribution “Spread the Winnings” via newsprints very recently were totally focused on the distribution of the top three prizes for the unclaimed prize whereby I merely made a suggestion that a few more potential persons could have won some prizes if there were more motor scooters instead of three vehicles.

In layman terms, let us take it that the value of the three vehicles was $5M and if one could have gotten 12 motor scooters for the above value, it simply means that nine other persons could have qualified for a top prize of a motor scooter.

I am quite certain that if a survey was taken, at least twelve persons out of a hundred would agree that it would be a joy to have won such a prize.

For the record, I play smartly far and apart in the sense that I tend to make sure that food and vitamins are attended to on a priority basis and it’s only when there is an extra small change that I would buy a ticket. Yes, I have also smiled in the past with small winnings of the scratch tickets for my luck seems to always sway that way. It’s the 200-400 dollars prizes.

The company on the other hand needs to understand that it could be important at times to be open to “Feed Back” and “Suggestions” for it can help in some way with its marketing planning/strategies.

Examine this case scenario — I have made a couple of suggestions in the past via newsprints that GT&T should consider matching Digicel’s 200 top up service; it’s presently in effect, go cheaper; which they did in the past for a short while with the 100 C-point and work on using the gold/yellow colour which to my mind is an effective competition colour in competing with Digicel’s-red.

GT&T’s present television advertisement is indeed quite impressive with the young lady wearing the gold/yellow dress.

On the other hand, should GT&T say that the company had that idea/s way before I penned those contributions would not be a big deal.

This is not about achieving credit of any kind, but sharing knowledge and putting my self taught expertise to practice and I know a darn good advertisement when I see one.

A good example is two present American advertisements running on television that are a knock out are the “Ethan Allen” and “Verizon” advertisements respectively.

Not to copy cat either of the above, but it would just be fun and excitement to see which of either GT&T or Digicel embarks on a campaign with a local version of the “Verizion Dead Zone Advertisement.

That is, choose an area that never had a network before and let it portray the dead zone idea which of course at the end, now has the service.
