AN arrest warrant has been issued for Leon Thomas, who faces a charge of attempted murder allegedly committed on female Constable Rodlyn Hooper.

Magistrate Chandra Sohan issued the warrant in the New Amsterdam Court after he was informed that the defendant, who was sent on station bail was informed of his court date.

Thomas, who previously shared a live-in relationship with the female cop, is alleged to have inflicted several stab wounds about the victim’s body, whilst she was shopping at a New Amsterdam Store on June 28, last.

The off duty rank, was rushed to the New Amsterdam Hospital where she was admitted as a patient for seven days.

The case is fixed for hearing on October 3.
