My dream Guyana cabinet
AS President Jagdeo’s term in High Office moves along, there is a need for the PPP to regenerate and find new Leadership and new Presidential Candidates.
My personal selection for President would be:
1) Ms Carolyn Rodrigues as it would be good for Guyana to have another woman as President as well as to have an Amerindian as President. Since Carolyn is from a minority herself, she will be a good choice to deal with other minorities politics.
2) Ms Priya Manickchand for the good work that she has been doing.
3) Dr Jennifer Westford.
4) Dr Ashni Kumar Singh
5) Robert Persaud (I would have put Robert at a higher level. However he is too good at what he has been doing recently).
6) Dr Leslie Ramsammy (again, he is doing remarkable well in his current position).
7) Dr Henry Jeffrey (has not been in any controversial situation as far as I am aware).
The DREAM TEAM would be:
1) Carolyn Rodrigues (President)
2) Robert Persaud (Prime Minister)
3) Priya Manickchand (Vice President 1)
4) Dr Henry Jeffrey (Vice President 2)
5) Dr Jennifer Westford (Vice President 3)
6) Dr Ashni Kumar Singh (Finance Minister)
7) Bharrat Jagdeo (Special Non Executive Consultant on Presidential Affairs for 1 year, renewable)….new position.
I would leave The Donald in his current position so that he can hold the PPP together to prevent disunity.
Remove Sam Hinds as he has damaged the Energy Sector in Guyana.
Swap Manzoor Nadir with Clement Rohee.
Leave Dr Roger Luncheon in his current position.
Leave Manniram Persaud in his current position as he seems to have a flair in Tourism, etc.
And, bring in Joey Jagan to work under Dr Roger Luncheon.
As you can see it is a relatively young team who would be able to make the leap past conflict politics. It would be wise for President Jagdeo (once the next PPP Presidential Candidate is chosen) to give this Presidential Candidate real world experience in the Presidential seat before 2011, so that the PPP can go into the 2011 General Election with an “experienced” Presidential Candidate rather than a Candidate that would be on par with the other Political Parties Presidential Candidates.
