A SINGLE parent of three was released on her own recognisance Wednesday, following her not guilty plea, at New Amsterdam Court in Berbice, to a wounding charge.

Stacy Johnson, 20, of Lot 24 Angoy’s Avenue, Greater New Amsterdam, appeared before Magistrate Chandra Sohan, jointly charged with Tamika Hermonstyne and Tallianne Garnette (no addresses given).

The latter two defendants were previously placed on $40,000 bail each.

But, after it was revealed, in Court, that the unemployed Johnson had lost her home to fire two weeks ago, she was allowed self-bail.

Particulars of the offence said, on June 7, the trio unlawfully and maliciously wounded Felicia Woodruff, at Brother’s Restaurant, also in New Amsterdam, where they all had gone to buy Chinese food.

The case has been rescheduled for July 8.
