Whispering Mabel
Positively filthy which cannot speak well of those persons illegally occupying the lands running adjacent to the canal alongside what used to be railroad tracks on Lamaha Street beginning at Vlissengen Road and ending at Parade Street.
The unsightly decaying refuse of varying amounts is deposited at each of more than fifty entrances on the pedestrian walkway/pavement nakedly foul and which must affect anyone attempting, to use the pavement, equally rendering a most unpleasant experience is the palpable unhygienic black water that fills the trench exuding a distinctly foul odor.
Needless to say Mabel is thoroughly ashamed of this display of nastiness and total disregard for cleanliness and hygiene aggravates Mabel immensely she believes that M&CC as is their practice is guilty of severe neglect.
Thousands of visitors to our clean beautiful garden city will be coming sooner rather than later for the CARIFESTA celebrations, who will be embarrassed?
Rickford Burke received a devastating blow to his inflated ego when he attempted to debate with President Jagdeo during the recent visit of our Head of State to New York. It transpired, according to news reaching Mabel, that Burke accepted an invitation from the President to meet at a point where he (President) was scheduled to be attending. Burke duly arrived with a few of his friends and the President invited him to lay his case about his grouses which he has long been shouting about, as to be expected the President in his very cogent and effective response was loudly applauded by the attending crowd, in subsequent verbal exchanges, Burke was unable to match the repartee of Jagdeo and left the meeting to loud booing from the crowd including some of his own friends who had arrived with him. His much vaunted ego was severely deflated.
The CARICOM Heads are meeting at the 29th Conference as is the yearly custom but Mabel believes that the populace of the Region is still not enthused over the effectiveness of the pursuit towards closer ties.
The people of Region still need to be sold the idea of one CARICOM area working together as a unified entity
