Two more counts added to acid burning indictment

KOMAL Persaud and his mother, Renee Persaud, originally indicted for throwing a corrosive substance on Navin Seepersaud with intent to murder him, are now facing two more counts on the indictment.
Resulting from a ruling by Justice Roxanne George yesterday, the accused have also been charged with inflicting on and causing grievous bodily harm to the victim.
Following the development, State Prosecutor Kara Duff-Yehudah closed the case for the Prosecution, leaving the mother and son facing three counts for offences committed on November 25, 2004.
Defence Counsel Vic Puran said he would advance legal arguments when the trial resumes
