THE main Opposition People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR) is seemingly divided in its support for the upcoming mega event – the Caribbean Festival of Arts (Carifesta).

The Chairman of Region Four, Mr. Clement Corlette, says that the Region is fully committed to Carifesta and that many of the villages in Region Four are already in the throes of preparation for Carifesta 2008.

This position of the Region Four PNC-elected Chairman conflicts with the party’s declared position to make Carifesta ‘ungovernable’.

The Chairman’s comments were made during yesterday’s Regional Democratic Council (RDC) meeting. Corlette, in response to a specific question by a PPP councillor at the meeting, was asked about the commitments of the region to Carifesta given this declaration by the PNCR.
