MAGISTRATE Hazel Octave-Hamilton yesterday remanded Michelle Sancho to prison on a drug trafficking charge.

The defendant, 36, of Lot 472 Third Street, Turkeyen, pleaded not guilty to being in possession of 280 grammes cannabis (marijuana) for the purpose, on May 13 at Ogle Airstrip.

According to Police Corporal Shellon Daniels, prosecuting, Sancho went to the terminal to fly to an interior location but a search of her belongings yielded five trays of eggs, with holes in two of them that contained the narcotic.

The woman will remain incarcerated until May 21 and her case was transferred to Sparendaam Court, on East Coast Demerara, as well.
