Lennox Cush gets US$10 000 gift
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad CMC) – Guyanese Lennox Cush, star of the inaugural West Indies Players Association (WIPA) Twenty20 Caribbean Club championship, has received US$10 000 in building materials from Tile Depot Central Sports.
Cush played for PowerGen in the WIPA series and was instrumental in their winning the first prize of TT$1 million (approximately US$160 000) last Sunday night.
The all-rounder, who won the man-of-the-match awards for the semi-final and final matches, says the gift will assist him with the house he is constructing in Guyana.
“I am very grateful for the opportunity to play in Trinidad and although I was fortunate to play with a great team in PowerGen in the WIPA, series, I must say thanks firstly to Central Sports,” he said.
“The guys at Central Sports have really been kind to me and brought me over to Trinidad, years ago to play cricket. I have really enjoyed playing cricket in Trinidad.”
Although playing for PowerGen in the WIPA series, Cush is returning to Trinidad on Friday to play for Central Sports in the National League Division II.
“I have made some very special friends at Central Sports and they have made me very welcome and happy. These guys are like family to me and I will always remain committed to them and the team,” Cush said.
Central Sports currently lead the standings in National Division II and will be playing in the Premier league next year.
