Farmer charged with axe murder of drinking companion

CHEDDI Ramchandra Brijlilas, of Lot 130 Third Street, Mibicuri South, Black Bush Polder, Corentyne, Berbice, was yesterday charged, before Magistrate Tejnarine Ramroop, with the murder of Armanath Dhanraj.

The accused, 31, from the same agricultural community, appeared at Albion Court, Corentyne, accused of unlawfully killing the victim with an axe after the two of them had been drinking.

The case will be called again at Mibicuri Court on May 20, until when Brijlilas has been remanded to prison.
