Continue probe into corrupt officials

I NOTICED that the Guyana Revenue Authority (GRA) has sacked three more of its employees for alleged corrupt practices. This is a good move by the GRA because I think this is the only way we could get rid of corrupt officials who give an entire entity a bad name.

I still believe that there might be many more workers at the GRA who might be involved in corrupt practices, but a start has been made to weed out these people and I hope that before long, we might be able to see a corrupt-free GRA.

Because of the activities of these officials, the government loses millions of dollars every year in lost revenues, part of which goes into the pockets of these officials.

I would support any move by the authorities to work out a system to check on the assets of these corrupt practices so that the public could get a better idea of what the GRA has been losing over a period of time and where the money went. In fact I feel that all government employees in high office should be subject to this kind of investigation.
