THE Theatre Guild said it will today receive a generous and much needed donation of $500,000 from Courts Guyana Limited.

As major construction and interior finishes are close to completion, the focus of the rebuilding project has turned to preparing and installing the state of the art electrical systems required for the operation of the new sound and lighting equipment.

In this area, overruns in the initial estimated cost for electrical wiring has delayed completion of the project and frantic efforts to raise enough funds to complete the project is now taking place.

The Theatre Guild, in a statement yesterday, noted that this donation from Courts Guyana Limited has come at an opportune time and is greatly appreciated.

The presentation ceremony is slated for 15:00 h today.
