No more Jim Jones

THANKS for publishing the letter from Deborah Kanhai, which brought the story of the Ficeks to my attention. Guyanese take the insults of other nationalities when we take up residence in their territory, why are we allowing others to take up residence in our homeland and still put up with the insults?
I sincerely hope that all Guyanese advocate not to have these people granted work permits, and to be asked to leave the country. Extreme fundamentalists (of any type) we do not need! We do not want another Jim Jones situation on our hands

Hello,
Is Guyana a free country? It doesn’t seem. Why all that fuss about a religious matter? I fully believe that one has the choice to become a christian or whatever. The Ficeks never meant to destroy Guyana beautiful culture. That’s their belief and Guyana grants all freedom to them. It’s funny that you mention foreigners in Guyana, but the USA is home to thousands of Guyanese, and they can worship Shiva, Muhhamd or Allah as they want. It’s funny, but you want to have freedom but others can’t have it!!! You are the RADICAL FUNDAMENTALIST in this story. Live your life and let the Ficeks alone. The job he is doing is not really his, but God’s, so be careful with what you say and spread! And if he can’t stay in Guyana because of his beliefs, YOU TOO NEVER LEAVE GUYANA, since you have an opinion that will be diffrent from all others anywhere in the world. Just stop being so radical with stupid comments, and go find something to do instead of spreading anger, prejudice and lies on the web.
