Spectacular launching of Carifesta

THE launching of Carifesta was quite spectacular! It was a refreshing event to attend and I must say the atmosphere was electric. I was so impressed with our local performers and our beautiful children that I, myself shone with pride.

The visitors also gave a performance to be remembered. It felt wonderful to be in that audience with my daughter knowing that our country is once again making history.

The only hindrance that caused a slight upset was some protesters from the PNCR saying ‘no Carifesta’. How shameful and disgraceful an act!

Whilst our children were on stage performing and giving their best, here were these people trying to upset the celebrations. People in the crowd were appalled that the protesters would actually try to interrupt the celebrations.

Guyanese saw the Carifesta event for what it was and will be, a celebration of unity and diverse culture, and as such refused to support a ridiculous protest.

I sincerely hope that the PNCR protesters realised what a fool they made of themselves and all this talk about making Carifesta ‘unmanageable’ is anti-national and mischievous.

Any attempt to derail Carifesta will be a futile and reckless adventure that will relegate the PNCR to the lowest rung of the ladder.

I think Mr. Corbin’s political career will be so tarnished that he may want to migrate and hide himself.
