Henry refused bail by High Court
JUSTICE Winston Patterson on Friday refused to grant petitioner Nigel Henry bail, following an application, in the High Court last week.
Through his Attorney- at- Law Mr. Murselene Bacchus, the petitioner, currently an inmate at the New Amsterdam Prison moved to the High Court to secure pretrial liberty after he was refused same at the Magistrate court.
In a sworn affidavit, Henry also called ‘ Zip’, a mason, said he is charged indictable along with two others with six offences.
The offences are two counts of robbery under arms, attempt to commit a felony, attempt to commit murder, possession of ammunition and the possession of a firearm without the relevant licences.
All the offences are alleged to have occurred on June 23, 2007 at Ma Retraite, Gangoo Creek and ****Belle Vue, all East Bank Berbice locations.
The matters have commenced, and six persons have given evidence. The document stated that the only evidence against the petitioner is that given by Sandy Wilson.
