Freddie Kissoon’s lack of evidence continues
It is very disturbing that Freddie Kissoon’s columns are constantly filled with distortions, bias and most notably, lacking credible evidence, or at times, no evidence at all.
As such, I have decided today to further peruse Kissoon’s columns. I wrote a letter published in the Chronicle dated 03/30/08, pertaining to his column on 2/21/2008, which showed considerable lack of evidence.
However, the sordid saga of Kissoon’s columns, devoid of evidence, continues. In his column dated March 31, 2008, Kissoon pointed out that the PPP/C embraces the fundamentals of fascism. Where is the evidence for this conclusion? Indeed, such a strong accusation against the PPP/C deserves conclusive evidence to support its claim. The PPP, in the early years to which Kissoon alluded, espoused socialism, and not fascism. Let Kissoon show us his studies on the evolution of the PPP to substantiate his claim that the PPP is a fascist party.
In his column, Kissoon mentions countries that embrace communism. However, the political systems of these countries could not be classified as communist, but socialist. Kissoon should know that communism is an ideal type, even today.
I call on the Kaieteur News’ editor to ensure that Kissoon’s column complies with journalistic ethics.
