THE Guyana Water Incorporated (GWI).yesterday said that efforts are underway to address the water woes in affected West Demerara communities caused by a broken main at Windsor Forest.
According to a source, the GWI technicians posted at the site should have completed the repairs yesterday and soon after the life of the affected communities will return to normalcy.
Reports state that several villages including Windsor Forest, Best Village and Uitvlugt on West Coast Demerara have been without water for the past two weeks.
The Guyana Chronicle understands that some sections of Ocean View and Uitvlugt have been experiencing this problem for several years despite repeated complaints to GWI.

The present and impending water crisis in Guyana is dire. How long will it be before the Guyanese people understand that this is unacceptable? They must demand that their leaders take urgent action!
Comment on March 31, 2008 11:07 amgood question Bea. GWI is run by a bunch of incompetents with connections it would seem beause this problem is not new
Comment on March 31, 2008 04:57 pmThe board of GWI is being run by a PPP crony who is also a recycled chairman so an inefficient water supply is all that can be expected.
