Tony’s Auto Spares beat Floodlights XI by four wickets

TONY’S Auto Spares defeated Floodlights XI in their feature 25-over softball match on Wednesday night at the Everest Cricket Club ground. The match was sponsored by Tony’s Auto Spares of Light Street, Alberttown.

Floodlights XI were asked to take first strike and they set up a challenging 172 all out in 23.5 overs while Tony’s Auto Sales XI in reply reached 173 for six from 24.3 overs.

Rajesh Singh led the way for the Floodlights XI with a brisk 46 while Ramesh Sunich and skipper Reyaz Husein chipped in with 21 runs each as Toney Ramcharran grabbed four for 36. He was ably supported from Jaipaul Bharat who took three for 27 and Petamber Maharaj with two for 30.

In Tony’s Auto Spares innings, man-of-the-match Rickey Deonarine made 44 not out while captain Sheik Mohamed was also on 36 while Sase Sankar had earlier made 21. Ramjit Singh claimed three for 18.
