Dharma Sabha hosts several events in observance of Phagwah

THE Guyana Hindu Dharmic Sabha will be hosting several activities to commemorate the festival of Phagwah which will be celebrated by Hindus tomorrow.

According to a press release one of the activities include the annual Holi Utsav which will be observed at the Sanskritik Kendra, Prashad Nagar tomorrow between 14:00 h to 17:00 h.

The release added that the programme will entail vocal music followed by Phagwah songs and a variety of dance forms presented by the Dharmic Nritya Sangh while those attending will have the opportunity of exchanging greetings with powder, perfume and abrak.

Meanwhile, the Sabha will assemble at the Shri Krishna Mandir at Campbellville this evening at 19:00 h and thereafter proceed to the Camptown ground for the burning of Holika.

The Sabha has also extended an invitation to the general public to join with them in observing the Phagwah festival at the Dharmic Rama Krishna Mandir, Barr Street, Kitty at 08:00 h.
