Why speak in riddles?
IN response to Eric Phillips letter in Kaieteur News (dated 02-06-08), we need to act before it is too late.
Philips said it’s time for change since rebel members of the armed forces loyal to their cause of racial war can still hurt a few Africans and make it look like retaliation for Lusignan.
Phillips then called on the PPP to act before it is too late.
However, Phillips did not mention what changes he is asking the PPP for.
Are we to assume that Phillips wants President Jagdeo to resign and appoint an African to lead Guyana so that the rebel forces will not kill a few Africans so to stop that race war he spoke of?
Phillips, are you advocating that only an African leader can make no more Lusignan type slaughter of Indians happen?
Phillips, please spare us your riddles next time you write letters and come out in plain, simple English language and let us know exactly what it is you want and not allow us to assume.
It makes you look a bit silly. Don’t you think so?
Phillips then went on to say the President wants to give away our forest for climate change.
Phillips, again I ask you.
To whom the President is giving away our forest to? Again you failed to mention a name.
Phillips I say to you now, if you have the proof, then video it, document it and air it on the public tube for the world to see.
Since you have no proof of this then why not ‘zip it’?
Phillips then went on to say that the ERC should be replaced with a human rights commission.
Phillips, in case you didn’t know, then let me tell you now.
There is a Guyana Human Rights Commission (GHRC) already, although it looks out for criminals only.
GHRC is loud, proud and most vocal when criminals are killed refusing to surrender to law enforcement for crimes they allegedly committed.
GHRC has no voice when innocent people are slaughtered at the hands of killers.
So Phillips, from what I gather from your writings is very clear to all.
Why not come out and give Guyanese plain talk since Guyanese like plain talk and not riddles like you are giving them.
Why not come out plain and say that only Africans can lead this Guyanese nation, then and only then no more ‘Lusignan’ will happen and our forest will be ours.
Eric Phillips, we won’t say you have bad manners if you talk plain to us Guyanese.
