WAKAPOA Secondary School in lower Pomeroon, has received a gift of several Caribbean Examinations Council (CXC) texts, from the wife of Guyana High Commissioner in London, Mr. Laleshwar Singh.

People’s Progressive Party/Civic (PPP/C) Parliamentarian, Mr. Parmanand Persaud said the books, on Mathematics, Social Studies, Science and English, were handed over to the Headmaster, Mr. John Boyan, last Friday, at the PPP Reliance office on the Essequibo Coast.

The recipient said he was very thankful to the donor as the donation would allow every student at Wakapoa to study harder and do well at the examinations.

Persaud said teachers and residents of Wakapoa made the request when Mrs. Singh, accompanied by PPP General Secretary, Mr. Donald Ramotar and Chairman of Region Two (Pomeroon/Supenaam), Mr. Ali Baksh, visited the village last year.
