PRESIDENT Bharrat Jagdeo yesterday sent a congratulatory message to newly elected Prime Minister of Barbados, Mr. David Thompson, following his election victory this week.

The President’s message to Mr. Thompson reads as follows:

“Dear Prime Minister,
The people of Barbados have decided, in the exercise of their democratic right, to entrust the reins of government to you and the party you lead.

On behalf of the Government and People of Guyana, I offer you our warmest congratulations on your victory at the polls and our best wishes for a successful term of office.

I look forward to working closely with you in the years ahead for the mutual benefit of our countries and the further integration of our region.”
