DESMOND Williams, 19, of Lot ‘B’, Field 14, South Sophia, Greater Georgetown, was yesterday refused bail by Principal Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle, on a robbery with violence charge.

Particulars of the October 26 offence, to which he pleaded not guilty, said Williams robbed Sharon McPherson of a ‘Razr’ cellular phone valued $40,000 and, at the time of, immediately before or after, used personal violence on her.

The victim, who was in Court, claimed it was the second occasion she had been robbed by the same defendant.

She said Williams was drinking in the company of others when he lashed her on the forehead with a beer bottle and relieved her of the instrument.
Williams will remain in prison until November 5.
