Overwhelming response to medical service offered by USNS medical team

As the work of the USNS Comfort’s Medical outreach team in Guyana entered its third day last Wednesday the response by persons clamouring to benefit from the service continued to be overwhelming, and members of the team, are working energetically to provide primary and specialist health care to needy Guyanese.

Kennedy and Mahdaeo plead guilty to larceny charge

A 25-year-old father of one was remanded to prison last Tuesday by Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle when he appeared to answer a charge of simple larceny.
Otis Kennedy, who resides at Middle Street Pouderoyen appeared at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty to the charge.


Wortmanville man charged with trafficking

Wayne Anderson, 40, of Lot 25 D’Urban Street Wortmanville appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle last Tuesday charged with trafficking.
It is alleged on September 20 last, Anderson had in his possession sixty-seven grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

THIRTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD Kennedy Arthur Grant of Dartmouth Essequibo Coast was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle charged with murder.
Grant who was not required to plead was charged on September 16, 2006 for murdering Cecil Benn at Westbury, Essequibo Coast.
