GUYANESE cricket coach Mark Harper has taken up a one-year contract with the Turks and Caicos Islands Cricket Association which is continuing to upgrade facilities and develop cricket in the Islands.

The former Guyana middle-order batsman is tasked with preparing the national squad for next year’s regional Stanford 20/20 Tournament and setting up a youth development programme during his one-year attachment, made possible by the Stanford Cricket Development.

Harper, who is expected to be in Turks and Caicos tomorrow and will soon start training the 20/20 squad, told Chronicle Sport that a good number of Caribbean nationals have been selected and he is looking forward to working with the Association and cricketers during his tenure.
