Wortmanville man charged with trafficking

Wayne Anderson, 40, of Lot 25 D’Urban Street Wortmanville appeared before Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle last Tuesday charged with trafficking.
It is alleged on September 20 last, Anderson had in his possession sixty-seven grams of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking.

The accused who is a fruit vendor pleaded guilty to the charge and told the Court that at the time of the incident he was working at the Joint Services with other prisoners when an acquaintance give him the cannabis. He added that at the time of the incident he was in the Camp Street prison serving a sentence when he saw the acquaintance riding on the road and called out to him asking him to return with the substance which he usually consumes.

Anderson was fined $10,000 or three years imprisonment.
