THIRTY-THREE-YEAR-OLD Kennedy Arthur Grant of Dartmouth Essequibo Coast was yesterday remanded to prison by Magistrate Melissa Robertson-Ogle charged with murder.

Grant who was not required to plead was charged on September 16, 2006 for murdering Cecil Benn at Westbury, Essequibo Coast.

It was alleged that on the day in question both the virtual complainant (VC) and the defendant were at a wedding house when an argument ensued between the duo.

Grant who was under the influence of alcohol at that time took out a knife and stabbed the VC several times about the body.

The accused was refused bail and will return to Court on October 15.
