‘Mr. Know All’ Freddie Kissoon

Mr.Kissoon presents himself as a “Mr. Know All”, when he is one of the poorest academics around town. He has repeatedly failed to show his academic publications. He accuses people of not understanding new concepts in political theories, such as, ‘failed state’ and ‘elected dictatorship’ when he himself has serious difficulties in discerning the dynamic elements of these concepts. He continues to distort political history by unfairly attacking the PPP/C on a daily basis.

I believe that the PPP/C is subject to criticisms, but these criticisms must be warranted and evidentiary. It is unfortunate that in this country the Editor of Kaieteur News will allow Freddie Kissoon daily to breach all ethics of journalism. I call on the Editor of Kaieteur News to daily assess Freddie Kissoon’s content with the view to ensuring that journalistic ethics are sustained.

Freddie Kissoon’s column in Kaieteur News has gone beyond the pale. Should we wonder why journalism in this country has a long time entered the realm of poor standards? What is of even more serious concern is that Freddie Kissoon is a Lecturer at the University of Guyana.
