President attends fundraiser brunch in honour of freedom fighter Martin Luther King

Georgetown, GINA, January 18, 2004

President Bharrat Jagdeo today attended a brunch hosted by the Lions Club of Georgetown in honour of the late Dr. Martin Luther King.
The fund raiser event was held at Le Meridien Pegasus.
Martin Luther King Jr. is a legend that touched the lives of many with the lesson he portrayed. On Thursday, January, 15, the world remembers his birth anniversary.
Today’s event also reflected on the lesson of this great man, who fought for the betterment of all humankind in exercising love, unity and equality.
State Senator of New York John Sampson delivered the feature address at today’s event. He noted that the causes Dr. King fought for would make a difference in life if applied. He also pointed out that this legend’s fight freed the world from mental slavery.
