Linden Night billed for January 30 and 31
Georgetown, GINA, January 16, 2004
The Ministry of Fisheries, Other Crops and Livestock, in collaboration with the New Guyana Marketing Corporation, the Regional Administration of Region 10 (Upper Demerara/Berbice) and the Private Sector will be staging Linden Night 2004 at the McKenzie Sports Club Ground on Friday, January 30 and Saturday, January 31, 2004.
The event will serve to promote the buy local campaign, ‘Made in Guyana, Grown in Guyana.’
At the event local products will be on sale including agriculture products, handicraft, furniture, jewellery, clothing and beverages.
The buy-local campaign was launched a few years ago to promote produce grown and made locally. A wide range of produce both fresh and processed is on sale at the events.
With the launching of the buy-local campaign in Guyana, a wider range of local products is sold both locally and on international markets and the private sector reported that it has experienced better sales since then.
