Georgetown, GINA, January 31, 2004

The Winfer Gardens Primary School will be ready for occupation in February.
Speaking on behalf of the Ministry of Education, Permanent Secretary, Ganga Persaud said the Ministry regrets the delay in rehabilitating the structure.
He assures parents and teachers that the school will be completed by the first week in February and will be ready for occupation by the second week.
Due to some additional requests made by the Parent Teachers Association (PTA), along with tardiness on the part of contractors, construction work on the school was delayed.
Joseph Gilgeous, Assistant Chief Education Officer, Georgetown in a press conference early this month had said renovation to the Winfer Gardens Primary school was not on schedule.
Yesterday students of the school along with their parents protested outside the Ministry of Education, Brickdam.
