Georgetown, GINA, January 30, 2004 The biggest Mash activity for Region Five this year will be the Masquerade competition scheduled for the Fort Wellington Secondary School on February 15.
Convener of the Masquerade Competition, Leslie Glasgow said the 2004 Masquerade competition has a $1M budget.
At the Private Sector Brunch last Sunday, Glasgow said Masquerade was only popular around Christmas time, but in an attempt to preserve the artform, it is part of the national Mashramani competitions.
Other activities for Region Five include the regional children’s competitions which begin on February 5, an under-19 Cricket competition, a road relay, and a quiz competition.
Region Three has a few more items on its Mash calendar. These include the children’s costume competition from February 18 to 20 and the Children’s Costume Parade on February 21.
