His Excellency, President Bharrat Jagdeo has, in a letter dispatched this afternoon, expressed his “sincerest congratulations” to Mr. Robert H.O. Corbin on his election as Leader of the People’s National Congress Reform.

The President restated his openness “to engagements, which can bring about improved relations between the Government and the main opposition party in the interest of our nation.”

His Excellency also conveyed to the new elected Leader of the PNC/R best wishes for a successful tenure.
